Hi Lua, could you introduce yourself to the readers of our Online Magazine?

Hello, My name is Lúa Ocaña, I am 40 years old and I have lived in Barcelona for 17 years. I was born in Vigo (Galicia) which is on the other side of Spain. I came to Barcelona to study and ended up moving here. I work as a freelancer, I have different clients and over the years I have made various collaborations in different fields. Normally my weeks go by between shootings and a lot of photo retouching.

Tell us about your photographic background.

Photography came into my life at university, I was studying Chemistry and photography crossed my path, since I entered a laboratory for the first time to develop I knew that this was different...from then on I studied photography and dedicated myself to it. I am lucky to be able to dedicate myself to this since I finished my studies.

These wonderful photos were taken with the Berlin Kino B&W ISO 400 Film: what are the features that impressed you the most?

I like the type of B&W that the film gives, it suggests a slightly submerged world, like darkness. A journey within a journey.

Which camera did you use for these photos?

A Konica Hexar RF.

How did you choose the location? Did the kind of film influence the choice of the location?

I took the photos on a trip to the north of Catalonia, between the interior and the Costa Brava. My girlfriend and I escaped for a few days and I took several cameras, I shot this film for scenes that had a mysterious nuance.

Nature is very often present in your works. What is your relationship with nature?

Oh yes. It is necessary, with or without a camera in hand, to have spaces in nature to survive in the city. I love living in Barcelona, but if I enjoy the city so much it's because I escape to natural spaces from time to time. Everything vibrates differently there.

Who or what inspires your work?

I believe that inspiration is a sum of experiences...accumulating experiences, living, feeling. Nourish yourself from your day to day as from immense things, not always the most grandiloquent is what stirs the most.

Do you have any interesting projects or collaborations planned that you would like to share with us?

I would like to return to the simplest photography of my day to day, which at the same time I feel is the one with which I most identify. In recent years I have lost my center of gravity a bit and perhaps it would be good to look for it there.
