LomoAmigo Bom (The Light Saver) Tries the 2021 LomoChrome Metropolis Film for the First Time!

Returning with us here in Lomography Magazine is Bom, the owner of the fan page, The LightSaver. This time, he brought the LomoChrome Metropolis 2021 film film to test in low light conditions. Bom's photo collection is full of uniqueness and brings out the charm of this latest LomoChrome Metropolis film very well. Check out what he has to say about this new formulation in our latest interview!

Hello Bom! How are you doing these days?

I'm fine. It's winter but I still don't feel cold at all, hahaha. Hope all of the Lomography Thailand team are doing well too.

You already tried our LomoChrome Metropolis 2021 film. Could you please tell us about the theme of the photos?

My pleasure! That day, I took LomoChrome Metropolis 2021 film with me and the theme is "everyday portrait". So, it felt like this is a film that can take photos of someone while traveling.

Do you think this film is suitable for any style of photography?

Personally, I've been using the LomoChrome Metropolis formula 2019 ever since. I've always felt that it can be used for every general photography. In fact, it's good for street photography because of the contrast and color characteristics that create excellent dynamics. At the same time, the tones and colors are desaturated which creates interesting images. It also can be used for everyday photography for making everything more attractive.

How do you bring out the identity of this film?

I feel that the most distinctive feature of LomoChrome Metropolis is the desaturated color that everyone knows, including the contrast also. So, if you shoot under strong light conditions, it will bring out the uniqueness of this film effectively.

But I want to try this film with different lighting conditions than the one I had used before or ever seen photos from this film. So, I want to try to extract the identity that is hidden in this film, and as many people haven't tried to use it with different lighting conditon. I tried this film with low-light condition, which has heavy overcast of clouds.

I felt that the LomoChrome Metropolis film was able to convey the feeling of this lighting as well. It gives the gloomy feeling really well, plus a pale color saturaton that made me feel the atmosphere that I wanted. It is another unique identity that can be used when you want this feeling.

From all of the photos, which one do you like the most?

If you ask me, what do you like the most in this film... It's the pale tones and the fact that it also has a little green. Personally, I like the feeling of these photos, especially with the model sitting in the car.

Finally, do you have any upcoming projects?

Yes, during this time, I am still working hard with the page The LightSaver, and I started to collect photos for an exhibition, for the beginning of next year. Please follow my work, and thank you so much.
