Can you introduce yourself to the Lomography community?

We are a hostel from Kenting in Taiwan near the beach. There are two founders—one is a filmmaker and the other one is a surfer. That's why we have a lot of different styles in our rooms because they are all props from different music video projects. You can find many different angles in the same rooms, which is why we love to film everything here. The rooms always looks different when the new music video project finishes.

What does analogue mean to you?

Steady and sure. In this digital generation, analogue makes me think more about the details before shooting instead of simply pressing the button.

What does Lomography mean to you?

Live in the moment.

Why do you choose to work with Lomography?

Cause we are on the same page. No matter the difference in lifestyle, image, or feelings, Lomography gave us the same vibe that we really dig into.

What is your favorite Lomography product and why?

It would have to be the films because we love using different films to create different moments and scenes. They always surprise me when I got the photos back.

Are you doing any creative projects right now in the hostel or personally? Please tell us more about them.

Yes, we are trying to make a music video by using Lomography films. We have different actors in this music video and they have different storylines. We try to use the different films to record their performances and show their emotions or feelings.

What does the future of analogue photography look like to you? How will this impact your hostel in the next ten years?

Analogue photography will always be there. It is an attitude that reminds us that we are here and we love to use this thinking to create more memories in the future. I think people can invent more digital ways to take photos in the next ten years but for us, the analogue spirit will still be there.

What hardship did your business have to face during the lockdowns and what kept you going through these hard times?

Actually, we are really busy on normal days because we are a hostel but when Covid-19 started, the whole city was put on lockdown. People didn't come out for several months and we actually had more time to create new projects and got back to our normal lives just enjoying the ocean. It was a chance to rethink our lifestyle and not only the bad things that were happening all around.
