Hong Kong Tattoo Artist Mirmanda's Creations with Lomo'Instant Automat Glass

Welcome to Lomography! Please introduce yourself.

I may be known as a tattooist, but I’d rather be known as an artist.

How did you become a tattoo artist?

The first tattoo in my life was when I was in college. About ten years later, when I was engaged in the design industry, I began to be interested in tattoos. I gradually discovered that the working mode of tattoos is actually similar to design: to present clients' stories visually. Moreover, there is greater freedom in creation when doing tattoo design, so I resolutely entered the industry.

Where does your creative inspiration come from?

My creative inspiration comes from life, especially my own experience. I am a person who acts by feeling, and I have many feelings and thoughts about everything. (sometimes it is troublesome!) Remembering these feelings is very helpful to the creation, and it helps me to understand the clients' mood better.

Can you share your most significant tattoo with us?

Tattoo on my back. In the past two years, two of my family members have passed away, and now they are planted on my back like the roots.

Do you like Lomo'Instant Automat Glass ?

I like it! I like the remote function the most, it is very convenient for me with short arms. In addition, there is a multi-expose function, which is very fun!

What's your favorite picture?

I like the picture with wormhole. Sometimes it is difficult to disassemble the elements one by one, but the idea of it is: human beings are actually a community, we experience reincarnation constantly. When something unsatisfactory happens in life, we can treat it as a topic to learn in this period of life. Everyone will have various topics to learn, and everyone is not alone.

What are your upcoming plans?

I want to do more crossover with different brands and try to create in other media. I hope more people can know my thoughts about the world, so as to get their own inspiration.
