Hi, Wulan! What do you do and what got you started with photography?

I'm a storyteller. I'm working as a copywriter at an advertising agency. Photography is one of my ways to tell a story through visuals. My dad was introducing me to photography when I am in the first year at university. I fell head over heels with photography up to now.

How did you discover Lomography and what made you join our analogue community?

I found Lomography when I was Googling photos of 35 mm film a couple of years ago. I decided to join this analogue community to share things that were captured by my eyes. Am I too late to join the party? Hahaha :)

Who are your favorite photographers here?

Too many great photographers, too much inspiration I want to explore.

What is your favorite subject to photograph? What do you usually look for in a scene before you hit the shutter?

People and their activities are my favorite subject. I just need to observe, wait for the good moment, then hit the shutter.

In this day and age, why choose film?

'Cause I don't need any filter at all, just extra cash to buy films and develop. Furthermore, using a 35 mm film camera — especially SLRs — is never-ending fun learning that I love to deal with. And the excitement when I open the email from the film developing lab is something I can't feel when using a digital camera.

What does a perfect day look like for you?

When the sun is all over our bodies.

Hi, Tick! What do you do and what got you started with photography?

I have been taking photos since I was in university, around 18 years ago. At that moment, I had to do a project by using a camera for visual practicing, and that was how it started. I began to like photography and fell in love with it since then.

How did you discover Lomography and what made you join our analogue Community? Who are your favorite photographers here?

I was searching about analogue cameras and discovered this community several months ago but I had not joined it yet because I did not know what to do. I found a lot of attractive photos and interesting content here, then I decided to join this community.

Since I have just joined this community, I still don’t have favorite photographer here so far. Maybe soon.

What is your favorite subject to photograph?

Architectural and interior stuff such as building components, internal building spaces. Street and urban photography such as city life, urban life, objects, or other street elements. Minimal and abstract subjects. Shade and shadow.

What do you usually look for in a scene before you hit the shutter?

Mostly architecture. There are several times I do not look for anything, I just walk around and find out ‘wow! this is cool’ ‘this is interesting’ and just snap.

In this day and age, why choose film?

Actually, I also use a digital camera. It is fast and convenient. The resulting photograph is of good quality, clear, and sharp. But it is too much perfect. I love imperfection and manual stuff. I like the way when I have to adjust the aperture and shutter speed. Using the film camera, you don’t have to concern yourself with lots of things and you don't see the result immediately after taking a shot. You just wait and see the results of your photo after you finish shooting and the film is developed. That’s why you can concentrate and look at the object in front of you right here, right now.

And I just love the idea of waiting and looking forward to the film to develop.

What does a perfect day look like for you?

When I get some great shots after waiting for the right moment or just walking around and finding something interesting. That's how my perfect day will look like.
