Roberto Fiuza: A Routine of Colors and Shadows with the Classic LC-A

4

Lomographer Roberto Fiuza, a.k.a. robertofiuza has been keeping himself busy with his analogue routine during the quarantine days. His album Isolated is one of the quarantine albums to keep the Community revitalized through colorful cross-processing with the LC-A.

This is what Roberto's daily quarantine looked like, captured on film.

The series began while Roberto was doing his daily routine during the quarantine as he was working out and taking his daily sunset walks. The old gym where the photographs were taken is an old abandoned warehouse near his house.

While he was working out, the big, stretching shadows came up. This sparked him an idea to play with shapes and colors.

"When I worked out I started noticing some strong shadows and great contrasty light at certain times of the day and thought it would make some cool photos and double exposures."

Roberto makes a neat balance between these elements, making them so geometrically pleasant to look at. Despite the polished compositions, there's still a natural feel to the images as he uses his model to break the perfection.

The pinks, purples and pinks also brought out the classic Lomographic look through cross-processing. Roberto also captured some crisp double exposure portraits with complementary yellow and green, all captured with his LC-A camera.

"I really love cross processing old slide film and I thinks that gives a classic lomo look and we shoot what we like and shoot for ourselves (and not for likes) our style and uniqueness will start to take form."

The first few weeks of the quarantine was a challenge for him as he wanted to keep taking different images of the same place (Roberto's house, for one), but nothing with a little visualizing can break recurring patterns and routine!

Recently, he's been working on some double exposures, photoshopping them and finding ways if he can create such shots through raw analogue power. Lately, he's having fun testing some Kodak vision film from Lomographer @letone.
