These photos were taken at the Jacobs Ladder pub , Falmouth . It was quite the craziest gig I've ever witnessed , the band ' Tinned Fruit ' whipping the crowd into a frenzy right from the off . I really wanted to capture the raw energy and madness of the moment hence my choice of camera . Perfect exposures and focus were not my aim . The venue was very dark , all shots were taken wide open at f 3.5 at 1/25 sec and the film was stand developed in rodinal 1+100 for 2 hours .

@captainfantastic yes the guy in the background looking like a zombie is Connor ! Not the most flattering picture I've taken of my son .

@charliedontsurf I dont know if you're familiar with Danny Lyon, a photojournalist - documentarian of many sorts ( bleakbeauty.com/ ). He wrote a great photobook in 1967 - "The Bike Riders" couple of my favourite pictures are in that book. Although focus and exposure are important, sometimes they are merely considerations: 2yt5hf5ru3lc0191q3nb5yfv-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content… I guess other times they are critical: tienda.lafabrica.com/14989-large_default/danny-lyon-the-bik…

@mike1allison no I've never heard of Danny Lyon but he sounds interesting. Thanks for the links, I will follow them up. You've stumbled on some of my favourite work here, one of the shots in the album is my all-timer, I don't know if I will ever make a better shot.
