Is there a noticeable difference between the LC-A+ and LC-A+ Russian Lens?

For all you sticklers out there, the Chinese lens is an exact copy of the Russian one. The difference is that the China-made lenses use a newer mixture for the glass and the mounting ring is different.

While there is a slight difference between the lenses, you will not be able to tell by simply looking at your photos – especially if you cross-process your films or take in account the variation of results depending on the film you use with your Lomo LC-A. There are too many factors that determine the end result of a picture and no one will be able to tell the lenses apart.

The Russian lens cameras are a little bit more of a collector’s item. You can take the history of the item into consideration and know that the Russian lenses were made in Russia, with Russian glass, and are no longer manufactured. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
